Incheon, South Korea — January 12, 2026. LOTTE Biologics announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Incheon’s Yeonsu District Office to promote sustainable growth of the bio industry and support regional development, including job creation.
Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate across multiple areas, including fostering talent for the bio and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) sectors, creating quality local jobs, improving the business environment, and supporting community-oriented initiatives.
The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both organizations, including Yeonsu District Mayor Jaeho Lee and senior executives from LOTTE Biologics, such as Woochung Jung, Head of EPC Dept., and Youngsoo Yoon, CCO (Chief Communication Officer).
LOTTE Biologics plans to work closely with the Yeonsu District to reinforce Songdo International City’s position as a leading global bio cluster. The collaboration is also expected to support the stable operation of the LOTTE Biologics’ Plant 1, scheduled for completion in the second half of this year, by facilitating administrative cooperation during the construction and commissioning phases.
In addition, the two parties will cooperate on infrastructure development within Songdo District 11, including roads and essential facilities, as well as initiatives to secure talent and create a favorable business environment. These efforts are intended to contribute to both regional economic revitalization and the long-term growth of the bio industry.
“Close cooperation with local communities is essential for our growth as a global CDMO company,” said Youngsoo Yoon, CCO of LOTTE Biologics. “By fostering a robust bio-specialized ecosystem in Songdo, we aim to contribute to regional development while continuing to deliver high-quality products and services with strong global competitiveness.”
Mayor Jaeho Lee of Yeonsu District added, “This partnership goes beyond attracting corporate investment. We will actively support LOTTE Biologics through administrative assistance and talent development initiatives so that local residents can benefit from meaningful employment opportunities and the region can grow together with this global bio company.”
